Get In the Business of Virtual/Real Estate
Real estate has, historically, always appreciated over time. Many people are in the business of real estate to make money. Likewise, there are a handful of people in the virtual real estate business of buying and selling websites. If you own any type of business on the internet, or any website (personal or business), and if you are also in the real estate business (rental, flips, etc.) then you can relate to what I am about to talk about.
Let’s start with the real estate business. There are different types of real estate investors. There are the buy-and-hold type and the fix-up then flip, or simple flip type of investors. Either way, money can be made, and the reason why money can be made is because of the difference in value from the time the investor had bought the property and the the value at the time it is sold. Yeah, just like investing in thes stock market, buy low and sell high. This principle sounds easy enough. In fact it is very easy and the same principle can be applied to internet business as well.
Let’s look at a website, an online property, or virtual real estate as others have called it. There are a handful of people making money by buying and selling websites - myself included. The two main strategies that you can make money with real estate can be used with virtual real estate. See, a website is no different from a piece of real estate property, which is really no different from any other business property (ie. restuarantes, shops, gas stations, donut shops, etc.). The value of a website can appreciate and depreciate based on the same factors that a piece of real estate has.
Just so we are clear on one thing. A website can make money for the owner, just like a piece of rental property can make money from leasing it out. A website is a piece of virtual real estate property where the space on the website can be leased for advertisements, and therefore, sales can be made from the website. Just like a fixer-upper that real estate investors can purchase, fix up, and flip it back to the market, so can virtual real estate investors buy a crappy website, fix up the design, and flip it back to the market.
There is a low barrier of entry to getting into building websites and selling websites, compared to the amount of money required in buying a piece of real estate property. Unlike real estate, websites can be built, demolished, fixed up in rather a very short amount of time compared to real estate properties. I will be introducing a video tutorial on how to build your website and make money from it. Stay tuned.
