Here is one of the many paypal scams that I have received in my email box.
See below of the screenshot of the paypal scams email that I got:

Now, I know I did not add a new email to my paypal account, so this email already smells fishy.
Occassionally you will receive a very formal and authoritative looking email from paypal but is not being sent from paypal. Beware! Here is how you can tell.
If you would just move over your mouse over the link that is in the email that the email requests you to click on, you will see that link that it will lead to is not a page on paypal.com!

This should be your first line of defense agains paypal scams. Just move your mouse over the link to see if the URL is indeed a paypal.com address.
Furthermore, if you really got fooled and click on the link, you will be brought to a webpage that looks exactly the same as the login page on paypal.com. Beware! Do not login from that page because it is not paypal’s website:

Look at the circles in red that shows that the webpage that you are looking at is not a webpage from paypal.com.
What do you do when you get one of these paypal scams? Simply delete the email and go to paypal.com and report such paypal scams. I repeat, DO NOT click on any links on any suspicious emails that you get in your inbox.
